Privacy policy
What we collect about you, why, who we share it with, and how to get it changed or deleted.
What we collect
Account: your email address, and your name and photo if you sign in with Google. We do not use or keep a password.
Your setup: your name, goals and interests, which you give us when you set up your account so we can plan your learning.
Learning: the Bytes and lessons you finish, your quiz answers, your exam submissions and grades, and your certificates.
Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or keep your full card details. We keep a record that a payment was made, its amount, its currency and its date.
Messages: what you send us through Help.
Your public profile: only if you turn it on. It shows what you choose to show.
How you use the site: pages visited, lesson steps and errors. See "Cookies and tracking" below.
Jobs and applications
The Jobs board can be read without an account. If you sign in you can save jobs and apply to them.
Saved jobs: kept in your account and visible only to you.
Applying on AI Labs: if you apply to one of our own jobs or a member post and tick "Share my public profile link", we email the poster your public profile link and your note, and we keep a private record that you applied. We send nothing else and your email address is not shared. Applying to a job on a partner site happens on their site, under their privacy policy.
Open to work: if you switch it on, your public profile shows an Open to work tag with the kind of work and the note you chose. It is off unless you turn it on, and it shows only while your profile is public.
How we use it
To create and secure your account, open the courses you paid for, track your progress, grade your exams and issue certificates. To send account and payment emails, answer your messages, and understand and improve how the site and our ads work.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning data while your account exists. Records of payments are kept without your name or email, because the law and our accounts need them. When you delete your account, we delete your name, email, photo, public profile, certificates, messages and notifications. What you learned stays without anything that says it was yours.
Your rights
You can see and change your details in Settings. You can delete your account in Settings, under Delete account. You can also ask for a copy of your data, or object to how we use it, through the Help page. If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the rights the law gives you over your data, and you may complain to your data protection authority.
Children
This service is for people aged 18 or older. It is not meant for children.
